I've been to every Love is Murder conference and have gotten something out of each one, especially the one where I pitched to Janice Strand of Hard Shell Word Factory, and ended up with a contract for Two Wrongs, my debut mystery. That also led to the release of Girl of My Dreams, my romantic comedy at the same publishing house.

Pitching at a conference is one of the best ways to jump over a few hurdles and avoid the slush pile. I highly recommend it. It worked for me!

I hope to see some of you there. If you plan on attending, please leave a comment.

Won't be going this year. Trying to cut back a bit, and only going to conferences closer to home.

See my post tomorrow.

I'll be there! I can drive so that helps. I've attended four or five LIMs and always have a great time and make new, lasting friendships.

Deb,
We'll have to look for each other over there.

Morgan,

I totally agree with you that pitching at a conference is the BEST way to get representation. That's how I did it!

I'll be there. Thinking of taking the train from Kansas City. That should be a scenic way to go.

And the gang of writers I met at LIM last year are just great.
