How to Write a Book

A book starts with an idea, much like a small bud.

Treated carefully and skillfully by an author, the story slowly unravels.

Little Bit

It Slowly Blossoms Into

A Very Beautiful

Work of Art!

Thanks for the visual inspiration! I am trying to write a mystery and writing blind, without an outline or definite plot in mind. Does that sound self defeating?

Oh, so that's how you do it!

Harvee, I don't usually do an outline until I'm forced to do so, which sometimes happens halfway or two-thirds of the way through the book when I kind of know where I'm going. The fun of it is finding out!

And Steven, now you know just what to do!

What a lovely analogy! I'll think about it when starting my next book.
