Where Does the Time Go?

It's a mystery to me where all the time goes. It's got to be around here somewhere, but where? I'm now retired, but not really, since I spend a lot of time online marketing and writing, usually in that order. Most of the important stuff seems to happen online in the morning, and if I wait until later, I know I'll miss something.

Today, I promised myself I'd get through my emails, support other authors where needed, do my blog, and then hurry over to my work in progress.

Well, I'm just now doing the blog. Also, the last part of my list never happened. I made the mistake of bringing something down to the basement, and realizing I had tons of work to do there. So, I spent my afternoon cleaning the basement. Six bags of garbage, some recycling items, some giveaways, and I finally called it quits for today. Last week was the same thing. I made the mistake of going downstairs and many bags of garbage and recycling later, I still wasn't through.

Wait a minute. I just solved the mystery. I know where the time went. It went into the basement.

Where does your time go?

My time has to be given to my multiple part-time jobs, since we are so in debt helping our 4 kids get through college, we'll never be able to retire!
I try to do some writing here and there, and somehow I turned out 10 books in the past 3 years...but I could do so much better if I could only give up sleeping!

LOL, I am so much like you it is not funny. My husband calls our approach to doing things the "push down, pop Up" method. We start "pushing" with one thing - taking something to the basement - and something "pops" up to get distract us from our plan. His jokes about this led to the short story I wrote, SAHM, I Am, about a woman dealing with a Sensory Activated Home Manager in the form of a large computer. Neither the woman or the machine fared well. I like my approach, thank you very much. LOL

Time escapes from us so easily. Right now, though I am concentrating on my blog tour AND writing my next book.

Since retirement, I'm faced with the same conundrum. I need to do the marketing, and that requires attention to email and social networking. But I'm actually writing less than I was pre-retirement. How can that be?

Right now my time goes to kids and volunteering. It seems to fly by way too fast.

I think the internet connection makes the clock speed up like going into warp space.
